Jakarta, January 16, 2025 – The Indonesian Fintech Association (AFTECH) held a Socialization of Personal Data Protection Guidelines in the Fintech Industry with the theme "Strengthening Personal Data Protection in the Fintech Industry: Socialization and Discussion on the Implementation of PDP Guidelines" on January 15, 2025, at Grand Sahid Jaya Jakarta. The Personal Data Protection Guidelines in the Fintech Industry were prepared by AFTECH in collaboration with the University of Indonesia Technology Law Study Institute, GoTo Finansial, and ISACA Indonesia Chapter. These guidelines provide implementation guidelines for fintech companies in maintaining data security and increasing consumer trust. The event, which was attended by the Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital, Nezar Patria and attended by more than 100 participants from AFTECH members, strategic partners, and academics, aims to increase awareness and understanding regarding the implementation of the Personal Data Protection Law (UU PDP).

An inclusive and sustainable digital transformation requires a clear and structured data protection framework. The implementation of the PDP Guidelines is an important step in ensuring that technological innovation continues to run in line with compliance with applicable regulations. This socialization is the beginning of a long journey towards a safer and more innovative fintech ecosystem.
